Sponsored by the Young Friends of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, ‘Staches and Spirits was a rousing success with over 75 people in attendance on October 16th. During the course of the two hour event, attendees had the opportunity to mingle, to sample free whiskey and to check out historic photographs of 19th and early 20th century hairstyles and facial hair from the Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s photographic collection.
The Philadelphia Beard and Mustache club was on hand to answer questions and to judge best hairdo, mustache, and beard from the night’s attendees. The night concluded with a raffle drawing with prizes ranging from free history books to theater tickets.
