The Delaware Valley Archivists Group is offering grants for members to attend the Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting, to be held virtually in August 2021. All DVAG members in good standing are encouraged to apply.
Winner(s) will be announced no later than Wednesday, July 21, in time for the winner(s) to take advantage of early bird conference registration, which ends on July 23, 2021.
All DVAG members may apply. However, we are particularly interested in supporting first-time SAA attendance, early career professionals, and students. Preference may be given to those in these categories. Applicants must be DVAG members in good standing as of July 16, 2021.
As the conference is being held virtually this year, funds may only be used towards registration for the Society of American Archivists (SAA) Annual Meeting from August 2 to August 6, 2021. Funds may not be used for pre-conference programs, tours, leisure activities, or alcohol.
Requirements for Winners
The winner(s) must share an account of their conference experience. Ways to do so include, but are not limited to, writing a blog post on their experience for DVAG’s blog or live tweeting one session per day while at the conference. Submissions are due by September 1, 2021.
Additionally, the winner(s) must plan a post-conference wrap-up event with the assistance of the DVAG Planning Committee.
Winner(s) must submit expense receipts to DVAG’s Treasurer by September 1, 2021 and will get reimbursed (rather than receiving a check outright). Given the limited funds, we encourage the winners to take advantage of early bird registration, which ends on July 23, 2021.
Grant recipients may receive up to $319 each. Grant recipients and their award amounts will be decided based on need, institutional support, and the importance of this conference to their professional development.
