SAA Annual Meeting Travel Grant

The Delaware Valley Archivists Group is offering grants for members to attend the Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting, to be held in person and virtually in late August, from Sunday, August 24th – Wednesday, August 27th, 2025 in Anaheim, California!

The application is open to two (2) in-person travel grants at $1,250 each. All DVAG members in good standing are encouraged to apply. If applicants are not DVAG members when the award is announced, they will be asked to buy a DVAG membership.

Applicants should send a completed application form and a copy of their resume to chairDVAG@gmail.com. The deadline to apply is 11:59pm on Wednesday, June 4th, 2025.

Winner(s) will be announced in time for the winner(s) to take advantage of early bird conference registration which ends on June 13th, 2025.

Eligibility Requirements

All DVAG members may apply. However, we are particularly interested in supporting first-time SAA attendance, early career professionals, and students. Preference may be given to those in these categories. Applicants should ideally be DVAG members in good standing as of May 19th, 2025. However, if non-DVAG members are still eligible to apply. Upon acceptance, they will be required to buy a DVAG membership.

Funds may only be used towards travel, registration, and boarding for the Society of American Archivists (SAA) Annual Meeting from August 24 – 27th, 2025. Funds may not be used for pre-conference programs, tours, leisure activities, or alcohol.

Requirements for Winners

The winner(s) must share an account of their conference experience. Ways to do so include, but are not limited to, writing a blog post on their experience for DVAG’s blog or live tweeting or Bluesky-ing one session per day while at the conference. Submissions are due by September 5th, 2025.

Additionally, the winner(s) must plan a post-conference wrap-up event with the assistance of the DVAG Planning Committee.

Winner(s) must submit expense receipts to DVAG’s Treasurer by September 5th, 2025 and will get reimbursed (rather than receiving a check outright). Given the limited funds, we encourage the winners to take advantage of early bird registration, which ends on June 13th, 2025.

The recipients of the in-person conference registration will be compensated up to $1,250 for travel, registration, and boarding. Grant recipients and their award amounts will be decided based on need, institutional support, and the importance of this conference to their professional development.
