The Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing’s new exhibit, 100 Years in Nursing History, opened this Monday with a small reception and open house. The exhibit includes material from a variety of local nursing training schools as well as items related to the general history of nursing and the portrayal of nurses in popular culture. Some of the artifacts and objects from the exhibit include a bandage roller, an early twentieth century yearbook, nursing caps, an iron, and uniforms. The exhibit provides a peak into the rich history of nursing and runs through the end of the month.
The Barbara Bates Center for the Study of the History of Nursing is located at 418 Curie Boulevard, Floor 2U, Philadelphia, PA 19104 and is open Monday-Friday from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
