On October 16, the National Constitution Center gave guests a behind-the-scenes perspective on one of their longer-running recent exhibits, “Hamilton: The Constitutional Clashes that Shaped a Nation.”
Exhibition Developer Elena Popchock and Registrar Theresa Altieri Taplin walked attendees through the gallery, telling of the many decisions that went into crafting what they saw. This focused on the selection, loan, and display of the documents and artifacts, but also included considerations of design, text, lighting, and climate control.
In all, the hour was a fascinating look at the planning that goes into even a modest-sized exhibit, and did not neglect insights into the museum’s larger exhibitions, current or future.
